Summary

What the app stores on the streamer's computer

It stays on that computer unless the streamer moves it.

  • Streamer: sign-in tokens for Twitch and/or YouTube, kept only in the macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager; app settings.
  • Viewers who chat or send support during the stream: Twitch user ID or YouTube channel ID, the latest display name, and in-app numbers such as attendance days, in-app gold, items and event results. Chat message text is not stored. Viewer profile pictures are never shown on stream.
  • Logs: daily log files kept 7 days. They contain no tokens, chat text, or viewer names or IDs.

How the data is used

Only to show viewers as residents of the streamer's on-stream village and to run its mini-games. The data is not combined across streamers, not sold, not used for advertising and not shared with anyone.

Twitch

YouTube and Google user data

This app uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

The app asks for one read-only permission (youtube.readonly) to find the streamer's own live broadcast and read its live chat. It never posts, uploads or changes anything on YouTube. YouTube data stored by the app (channel ID, display name) is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days.

Limited Use. Chatterbury's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data is used only to provide the user-facing features described on this page; it is not transferred to others, not used for advertising, and not read by humans except as needed for security or legal reasons (none of it is sent to us).

You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. After that, YouTube data stored by the app is deleted within 30 days, and immediately if you choose to delete residents in the app.

Deleting data

A viewer can type !forgetme in chat to delete their resident data right away. The streamer can find and delete any viewer, or all data, in the app's Viewers tab. Uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder removes everything.

Who is responsible

The streamer decides whether to use the app and controls the viewer data stored on their computer. If you are a viewer and have questions, please contact the streamer, or us.
